Corduroy

Corduroy fabric is a textured fabric with prominently visible, often vertically extending, raised stripes (roofs) on its surface, offering both aesthetic appeal and comfort. This special fabric, belonging to the velvet family, is created by placing extra pile threads over the warp threads in its weave. These pile threads are then cut using specialized machines to create the wicking effect. Compared to velvet, corduroy fabric has a more durable and sporty appearance, making it highly sought-after in the fashion and home textile worlds.
